Every year we have the difficult and unenviable task of deciding what goes through to the final StageWrite week. Here you can access images from previous years along with a synopsis of each of the pieces presented. In the past, we have collaborated with some of the best up and coming writers around and we are immensely proud to have worked with their material.
Andrew Maddock is a Writer and Drama Facilitator in London. Having previously worked as a Youth Programme Assistant for the National Youth Theatre he left to help found Generation Arts, taking the role of Programme Facilitator on the ‘FutureStage’ programme. Previous written work includes On Trial (2010, Camden Roundhouse), HeART (2012, LPAC, Lincoln) In/Out (2012, Greenwich Theatre) and Our Brave New Future, which was featured in last year’s StageWrite. Most recently he has been performing his own work, The Me Plays at The Old Red Lion Theatre in London where he has received excellent reviews and an Off West End nomination for best actor.
Tim Foley is London based playwright with a penchant for the dark, the awkward and the absurd. He is a Soho Young Writer 2013 – 2014. He has taken shows to the past three Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Scene of the Titans in 2011 was a Northern Irish gay-friendly rugby musical and was nominated for an MTM award, and Meat in 2012 was a homoerotic dining experience and received five-star reviews and an EdFringe award whilst 2013 saw The Goddess of Walnuts receive a four star review from Broadway Baby.
