Our sixth StageWrite unearthed more theatrical gems from writers keen to try out their work in front of an audience.  The festival ran in May and we initiated a new format of just two nights, four plays.  This meant that we could focus on finding not only cracking new scripts, but also writers who were especially interested in collaborating with us in their work being developed and possibly produced.

Our selection was Keeping by Simon Marshall; Little Shining Eyes by Poppy Hollman; Forty-Two Times Around The Sun by Chris Pike and Twistfinger by David Howgego.

Forty-Two Times Around The Sun went on to be produced in London in the summer of 2018, and Little Shining Eyes was revised and lengthened, and taken to full production in the summer of 2019.

Thanks again to our brilliant writers, ensemble, directors and technician – and of course to everyone who came to watch the shows!
